Who we are. Spruced is a trading name of Alfie Dodridge, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, and the controller of the information described here. Contact: hello@sprucedsites.co.uk.

If we contacted you about your website

What we hold: your business name, web address, the public content of your website, and the business contact details published on it or on OpenStreetMap (such as your phone number, business address and a general business email address).

Why: to offer your business a relevant service. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): we have a genuine interest in offering businesses a better website, the data is already published for business contact, and the impact on you is minimal. We only email limited companies and LLPs at addresses on their own website domain, never personal or free email accounts, and every message says who we are and how to opt out.

How long: if you don’t reply, we delete your preview and your details after 30 days. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only your email address and domain on a “do not contact” list so we can honour that permanently.

If you become a customer

We hold your contact details, your website content and records of payments (payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details). We keep billing records for six years, as UK tax law requires.

Who we share it with

Service providers that help us run Spruced: our website host (GitLab), our email provider, Stripe for payments, and Anthropic, whose AI tools help us draft website text. We don’t sell data or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it — email hello@sprucedsites.co.uk and we’ll act within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
